Let’s Talk Menopause

Date:Wed 24 Jun
Time:6PM-8PM
Location:Preston VIC 3072

Hosted by: Women’s Health in the North and Your Community Health

About the event:

Menopause and perimenopause are a big part of life, health and wellbeing. However, menopause information and services are often focused on cisgender and heterosexual people. This can mean that people who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community including trans, gender diverse or queer it can be difficult to find information that is relevant or services that are safe.

This session will provide relevant and appropriate menopause information for queer women, trans and gender diverse people. Expert panelists will explore the unique menopause needs for community and what barriers exist within society. They’ll talk through the strengths of community and the importance of peer connections.

A resource pack will also be provided to participants which will highlight LGBTQIA+ friendly information and services. Peer service navigators from Your Community Health will also be available to participants. At the end of the session there will be time to connect with other community members.
